North Georgia GMRS Network
Donations are Gratefully Accepted for the
North Georgia GMRS Repeater Network
By FCC rule, a GMRS repeater owner cannot charge a “for profit” fee or subscription for GMRS repeater use. It does take a considerable amount of money and time to install and maintain a Repeater. I personally have invested over $ 5000.00 to put a single stand alone repeater into operation and maintain it. There is no FCC rule that prohibits donations towards the costs of equipment, equipment maintenance, and upgrades. The repeater owner appreciates any donations of any size to defray some of the costs of installing and maintaining the equipment. Donations do not need to be in the form of cash donations. For example we have people who have donated our repeater location and others who service the repeater or those who may have donated equipment to be used on the repeater. Anyone who makes a donation will be listed if desired, just let us know.
All donations go DIRECTLY towards keeping the repeater system running and adding upgrades or additional sites in the future. Please note that these donations are not tax deductible. We do have an annual fund drive, there may also be times throughout the course of the year where the need arises to raise capital for a project or emergency repair. During these times you may receive an email or letter requesting a donation. We all share in the benefits the repeater provides for our families.
Thank You,
